Secondary Breast Cancer Care Coordinator

The Macmillan Secondary Breast Cancer Nursing Team are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative individual to join their award winning team as a Band 4 Macmilllan Secondary Breast Cancer Care Co-ordinator. The post is 37.5 hours Monday- Friday and involves supporting the 3 WTE Macmillan Secondary Breast Cancer nurse specialists working in the oncology outreach breast cancer clinics across Greater Manchester and Cheshire, in co-ordinating high quality care for palliative patients. Successful candidates will be passionate about making a difference to patients diagnosed with secondary breast cancer. Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills are essential, as well as a healthcare background, ideally within oncology and willingness to travel to relevant hospital sites. • To work as part of the Macmillan Secondary Breast Cancer Nursing Team, providing an administration and care coordination role
• Co-ordinate Cancer Nursing issues and being involved in service development.
• Co-ordinate efficient and effective first-line support to cancer patients and their families.
• Communicating effectively (daily and directly, face to face and telephone) with a range of individuals on various levels, e.g. patients, relatives, carers and other health professionals.
• Taking the lead in organising, delivering and evaluating the health and wellbeing days as an ongoing project
• The post holder will be expected to work with all grades of medical and nursing staff.
