Clio is the global leader in legal AI technology, empowering legal professionals and law firms of every size to work smarter, faster, and more securely. We are transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals while increasing access to justice. Summary: We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer, Production to join our Platform Team. This is a remote role based in the United KingdomWhat your team does: The Systems Engineering team at Clio builds and operates the systems that power all of our cloud-based products and services. We design, automate, and maintain the infrastructure that enables our global teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable solutions to thousands of customers every day. Our mission is to make deploying and operating software effortless and safe. We focus on automation, observability, and reliability, ensuring every engineering team at Clio can move faster and with confidence. You’ll be part of a globally distributed team, collaborating closely with engineers in North America and Europe, driving technical excellence across Clio’s production environments. Who you are: You’re an experienced Azure engineer who thrives on building infrastructure that just works — scalable, secure, and self-healing. You’re obsessed with automation, love digging into cloud architecture, and enjoy mentoring others on best practices. You understand what great DevOps looks like — continuous delivery, observability, feedback loops — and you know how to turn those principles into reality. You communicate clearly, solve problems creatively, and bring both curiosity and calm to complex challenges. What you’ll work on:

  • Design, build, and maintain the Azure infrastructure supporting Clio’s production environments.
  • Implement and evolve Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, ensuring reproducibility and compliance.
  • Collaborate with developers to improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and overall developer experience.
  • Enhance observability and reliability, refining alerting, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Lead cloud optimization projects, improving performance, cost efficiency, and security posture.
  • Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Partner with Security, DevOps, and Product Engineering teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and compliant systems.

What you may have:

  • Deep experience designing, deploying, and operating Azure infrastructure at scale.
  • Strong expertise with Terraform and infrastructure automation.
  • Solid understanding of Azure services
  • Familiarity with observability platforms (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
  • Proficiency in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Coding skills in Bash, Python, Ruby, or Go.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities, with a focus on knowledge sharing and team collaboration
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in improving your craft by using AI

Serious bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with Kubernetes (AKS) in production environments.
  • Expertise in Azure cost management, scaling, and multi-account strategies
  • Prior experience in platform engineering or developer productivity teams.

What you will find here: Compensation is one of the main components of Clio’s Total Rewards Program. We have developed a series of programs and processes to ensure we are creating fair and competitive pay practices that form the foundation of our human and high-performing culture. The expected salary range* for this role is £69,700 to £82,000 to £94,300 GBP. There are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency.

  • Our salary bands are designed to reflect the range of skills and experience needed for the position and to allow room for growth at Clio. For experienced individuals, we typically hire at or around the midpoint of the band. The top portion of the salary band is reserved for employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. Those who are new to the role may join below the midpoint and develop their skills over time. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
