Insights from the IT Team
Shelley George shared her perspective on the expanding opportunities within the IT sector, stating, "It is such a fantastic opportunity that’s always expanding. There will always be a demand for IT in any organisation." She manages digital projects that enhance teaching and learning by upgrading digital equipment in classrooms.
Tamar, who began her journey as a digital apprentice at Telford College, encourages young women to take the leap into IT: "Just go for it! There are so many opportunities for you to discover." She emphasizes the value of her apprenticeship, which allowed her to gain practical experience while studying.
Keren, the newest addition to the team, shared her journey from practical A-level subjects to becoming a casual sound engineer, and ultimately, her role in the IT team. Through initiatives like these, Telford College is not only promoting careers in IT but also empowering the next generation of female leaders in technology.
