The Operations Centre Analyst role sits within the IT Service Management function and is responsible for prioritising incoming alerts and events for the team, ensuring correct information flow, record keeping and data capture resulting in resolved incidents. They are expected to own event alerts on the Operations Centre, proactively tune all monitoring tools to show only relevant information, raise incidents & problems against events, escalating only when necessary.

They will strive to continuously improve event monitoring tools to integrate them with Business Process Manager, understand the need for automation and may have some basic scripting capability.Person Specification

  • Experience of working with, and administration of IT service management solutions (e.g. Hornbill Service Manager)
  • Experience of Windows Server maintenance tasks (e.g. Clearing disk space, adding disk space, adding & removing disks)
  • Experience in managing incidents and fulfilling Service Requests
  • Proven capability of troubleshooting systems
  • Basic understanding of PowerShell and or Linux scripting
  • Experience of administering BPMs

Working Style

This role will be carried out in-line with IPO Hybrid working arrangements where staff are currently expected to spend at least 20% of their time working onsite from one of our offices. This role is based in our Newport Office.

The requirement for attendance at an office location can vary by role so we would encourage candidates to discuss working arrangements with the recruiting manager to agree a reasonable balance between working from home and the office.
